Working with Policymakers
MetroPolis provides a rare place for research, practice and policy to share thinking. Our think tank recognises that universities must go the extra mile to be relevant to policy. That is why we make the time to work with local and national policymakers to help make a difference.
MetroPolis supports policy engagement in a variety of ways, including through external policy placements. We also provide funding for policy-related activities, undertake policy evaluations and produce research reports, and develop relevant and responsive policy briefs. Our team also shares knowledge and expertise through policy-focused blogs, offers targeted advice and consultancy, hosts tailored policy events and workshops, particularly around Government Areas of Interest, and delivers expert training to help bridge the gap between research and policy.
The Policy Evaluation and Research Unit (PERU) at Manchester Metropolitan University is a multi-disciplinary team of policy experts comprising evaluators, economists, sociologists and criminologists - you can find out more here
