Relaunching the MetroPolis Magazine

29th November 2024|In Latest News 2024

Next year, we will be relaunching the MetroPolis Magazine, a publication that will showcase the latest in policy-relevant thinking from Manchester Met researchers, and more broadly cover recent topics and issues concerning how researchers can influence policy. This magazine, to be released in both print and online formats, will build on the foundations of our previous publication and aim to bring the stories, challenges, and solutions of policy to life – demonstrating our commitment to doing things differently and highlighting how MetroPolis and those we work with are contributing to discussions on the most important issues of today.

In addition, we also aim to use this publication to better promote our work and further our engagement opportunities with  research and policy related networks. It will also benefit our contributors, whose articles may serve as an engaging and accessible resource that they can share with policymakers to ensure their recommendations are heard.

While each edition will feature content from across the broad field of policy, we aim to keep the magazine fresh and unique by providing in-depth coverage of our areas of focus: “Young Lives” and “The Circular Economy”. The first theme centres around the lives of young people, the issues they face, and how policymakers should support our younger generations. Linked to this is our second theme, the circular economy, and how we can create a better, more environmentally friendly, and sustainable future for young people today. We are therefore interested in commissioning articles from researchers who can write on these two themes. We also invite broader submissions from writers interested in how academic research can influence policymaking, which may be included as feature articles within the magazine.

Readers who are interested in learning more and possibly writing for this magazine can contact the magazine’s editor David by emailing: d.adams.guppy@mmu.ac.uk.
